SUMMARY:Australia Day Open Day\, Picnic and Car Display-Fagan Park\, Galston
DESCRIPTION:Fagan Park has been described as "the crown jewel of Hornsby Shire's parks."  The park covers 55 hectares of undulating land and includes a range of activities. \nCome join PMEA with your historic vehicle to display and enjoy looking around the historic cottage and buildings and enjoying all things Australia Day! \nPMEA Members (and invited friends) ONLY.  Vehicles will be designated parking area on entry. \nWe will picnic lunch under the shady trees. Bring a picnic rug\, fold up chairs and a beach umbrella if you have one for extra shade. There are a number of shelters and electric barbecues further away\, if you wish to BYO snags. \nThere will also be a Feature Parade drive of classic vehicles through the grounds for the public to enjoy\, of which PMEA will be able to participate\, if you so desire. \nThis will be a great day out\, dress in your Aussie gear and bring those PMEA windscreen banners and flags! \nOther things to do include: \nExplore the Gardens of Many Nations\, which covers 10 hectares and has 11 themed gardens\, including Japanese\, Dutch\, Chinese and Mediterranean. \nLearn more about local history at Netherby Cottage\, the original Fagan family homestead\, and the adjoining museum. \nTake in the local bushland along a short bushwalking trail. Learn about sustainable gardening at the Eco Garden. \nFagan Park Information \nMeet /Start: Outside Bunnings Belrose on Mona Vale Rd\, before slip road to Narabang Way. Meet 8.45am -Depart 9.00 am.  \nApproximately 1 hour drive via Galston Gorge\, with ETA at Fagan Park 10.00am. Additional pick up along Galston Rd Hornsby Heights (just before the Gorge). \nAlternatively\, make your own way directly to the event in your own time. \nDeparture: At your leisure \nNote: PMEA historic vehicles will be permitted to park and display inside the grounds. 'Friends of Fagan' donation collection $5.00 per vehicle. \nEnter from Arcadia Rd. \nModern vehicles will be required to park in the public 'Pay and Display' area. Ticket cost is $5.00 per vehicle. \nBooking: Required\, so please RSVP!! \n
