SUMMARY:Shannons Motoring Display Day 2026\, Sydney Motor Sport Park\, Eastern Creek
DESCRIPTION:Established in 1936\, North Fort is a remnant military complex at North Head Sanctuary in Manly. Strategically placed at the northern entrance to Sydney Harbour\, the fort was part of a defence system that spanned 300km of coastline during World War II. \nThe Defence of Sydney Tour is an opportunity to walk in the footsteps of the men and women who served at North Fort. Accompanied by a knowledgeable guide\, you will marvel at heritage gun emplacements and descend into the 200-metre-long military tunnel complex. Finally\, our guide will demystify an underground bunker once shrouded in secrecy: The Plotting Room. As you explore this facility\, concealed within bushland\, you’ll hear how our specialist volunteers faithfully restored it. \nTour Duration is 1hr 45 mins.  \nPMEA have exclusively arranged two tours with voluntary guides\, one departing at 10.30 am and one departing at 11.30am. \nThese two tours are for PMEA Members Only. \nWe will have breakfast/brunch beforehand\, see separate information for Bella Vista Cafe (no booking required for cafe). \nMeet /Start: Meet 8am Mona Vale Library carpark. Depart 8.15am sharp. We travel via Wakehurst Parkway through Oxford Falls and Seaforth to destination. Or make your way directly. \nTour Meeting Point: North Head Sanctuary Visitor Centre (adjacent to the cafe) - no later than 15 mins prior to designated tour departure time. \nDeparture: At your leisure. \nCost: Individual payment if you are dining at the cafe.  Tour cost is $10 per adult. \nNote: Plenty of free parking in the carpark\, through the gates\, behind the cafe.  \nBooking: Essential !!  Late bookings from 4th May now permitted until FULLY BOOKED. PLEASE RSVP and you will then be required to pay cash on the day. \n DO NOT book direct with venue.
