DESCRIPTION:Fagan Park has been described as “the crown jewel of Hornsby Shire’s parks.”  The park covers 55 hectares of undulating land and includes a range of activities. \nCome join PMEA with your historic vehicle to display and enjoy looking around the historic cottage and buildings. Afterwards we will picnic lunch/BBQ (BYO) in the nearby gardens. \nLimited shaded rotundas are available. Good idea to bring a picnic rug\, fold up chairs and a beach umbrella if you have one for shade. There are a number of shelters and electric barbecues that accept $1 coins scattered throughout the grounds. \nThere will also be a Feature Parade drive of vehicles through the grounds for the public to enjoy\, of which PMEA will be able to participate. \nThis will be a great day out\, dress in your Aussie gear and bring those PMEA windscreen banners and flags! \nOther things to do include: \nExplore the Gardens of Many Nations\, which covers 10 hectares and has 11 themed gardens\, including Japanese\, Dutch\, Chinese and Mediterranean. \nLearn more about local history at Netherby Cottage\, the original Fagan family homestead\, and the adjoining museum. \nTake in the local bushland along a short bushwalking trail. Brays Bay forms part of the Parramatta River.  \nThe Kokoda Track Memorial Walkway is a living memorial and a principal site of commemoration honouring all those who fought for Australia during World War II. The Walkway covers more than 800 metres from Rhodes Station to Concord Hospital in Sydney’s inner-west\, and runs along the mangrove-studded shores of Brays Bay on the Parramatta River. \nAt the centrepiece are magnificent granite walls bearing photographic images of the Kokoda campaign. There are 22 audio-visual stations along the Walkway\, each describing a significant place or military engagement. The Walkway has been planted with lush tropical vegetation simulating the conditions of The Kokoda Track. \nMeet /Start: Meet 7.45am Mona Vale Library carpark. Depart 8.00am sharp. We travel via Mona Vale Rd through St Ives\, Lane Cove Rd\, Top Ryde\, then Ryde Bridge to Concord Rd\, left into Hospital Rd\, left into Fremont St\, right into Killoola St. \n*Additional pick up: outside Bunnings Belrose on Mona Vale Rd\, before slip road to Narabang Way. Your host will be Tony\, the curator of this amazing collection. \n***You will need to be fully double vaccinated to attend this Event AND you must bring and wear a mask indoors while viewing the collection***  \nMeet /Start: Meet 7.45am Mona Vale Library carpark. Depart 8.00am sharp. \nAdditional pick up: outside Bunnings Belrose on Mona Vale Rd\, before slip road to Narabang Way. Village Drive is a circle road so park anywhere you can. We will meet as a group outside covered sheltered picnic tabled structure in Village Drive for special short BRIEFING prior to walking together to the location.
