OUR BIWEEKLY NEWSLETTER

11th March 2022

Hello from your President Kerry Benson

Hi to all,

Our next general meetings will be on Tuesday 22 March at 7.30pm at RMYC in the Top Deck room.

The latest March/April 2022 issue of STAY TUNED magazine is now on our website, thanks to Andrew Willoughby.

Thanks to all for persevering with the unwelcome but necessary covid adjustments. The current strain is extremely contagious as two of our committee have discovered along with thousands of others on the Northern Beaches. It may be mild for most but danger still lurks so please take care.

Rain, rain and floods please go away. Damage to roads and buildings in unprecedented rain has affected most of us in some way – our sympathies go to those with roof damage and rising water in garages. I hope none of our vehicles were inundated.

Our Wakefield Park Race day has been rescheduled to Fri 1 July. Bidding is for members only and can begin at the 5 April meeting and finish at the 17 May meeting at 8pm.

Club Procedures are on the website for all to read. Where rights of members, conditions of membership etc are involved, proposed changes need to be approved by committee and 50% of members at a general meeting and the Club Procedures updated. As stated in the minutes, club polo shirts are no longer included in the membership offer to new members however they are available for purchase.

You are reading this thanks to Kath Hunter for placing it on the website and to secretary Gavin for sending you the email link. Thanks also to Treasurer Graeme for his report and to VP David for his events organisation expertise. Also see our revised logo – we have added ’Motor Enthusiasts’ below – looks great thanks to Linda – hope you approve!

Regards and happy motoring,
President Kerry Benson

We all need to take extra care on the roads following the torrents of rain that have damaged many of our road surfaces, with some potholes the size of your regular council garbage bin. Hopefully you haven’t hit one yet!

DO NOT to miss our next PMEA meeting on Tuesday, 22nd March. I have arranged a special presentation and talk from Darren, proprietor of Peninsula Sports Car Services at Brookvale, 'The Workshop for Car Enthusiasts'.

Darren and George are the new owners of the business, previous owner was Geoff Morse, who is well known amongst the classic car fraternity. Questions from the floor will be taken following the talk. So please do come along. Hopefully this meeting will be well attended.

With the recent weather, I thought it was wise to postpone this Sundays run to Sous Le Soleil, BYO Picnic at Roseville Park. We would have needed gumboots with all the mud. This picnic has now been moved to a new date, being Sunday 10th April. Due to the fact that I will be away on our Southern Highlands sojourn, I need someone to volunteer to run this Event. So please contact me ASAP if you are interested. It’s really easy!
