12th NOVEMBER 2021

Hello from your President Kerry Benson

m: 0409 860 001

Hi to all,

The end of year mayhem is approaching fast as we all face increased demands on our time. The idle days of covid lockdowns are hopefully behind us. Kath Hunter is now contributing to the website and we are all grateful for that. She will be displaying her award winning Mitsubishi Starion at the Xmas lunch display so please make yourself known to her and welcome her generosity for your benefit.

Our auction for a race track day Thurs 16 Dec at Wakefield Raceway and accommodation/meals for 2 people in Goulburn on Wed 15 Dec is underway.

The total value of the deal is $1500 with current bidding at $700. Bidding will continue online until 8pm at our meeting on Wed Nov 24 with bids being emailed to treasurer, Graeme Smith or by hand at the meeting. Highest bids will be posted in STOP PRESS on the website asap.

This prize has been donated by Belrose Rotary club and we are grateful of the opportunity for our members to participate. See included flyer. This is a great chance to experience a race track speed experience in race cars with a racing instructor with you and/or your partner at the wheel. Minimum bid increments at $10 please. Any questions – ring me 0409 860 001.

We have 2 more meetings this year and capacity is 80 people in the Top Deck Room. Attendees are encouraged to contribute motoring stories and adventures, tall and true. The bar downstairs is open until 9.30pm after for noggin & natter which is proving very popular.

VP David has covered all the events details well in his newsletter.

At our Christmas luncheon we have capacity for over 100 people to attend as restrictions have eased. Almost 70 have paid already – there is room for many more. At $35 each for members and spouses, the 2 course meal, free welcome drink and free coffee or tea after is a bargain. With display vehicles on the front lawn, yachts and Bayview hills in the background and wonderful Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club ambiance and attentive staff, it promises to be another great day. We have extended the payment closing date until Thurs 2 Dec after which late entrants will go on a reserve list in case of late apologies. The club needs prep time for food and staffing so 2 Dec is the date we finalise numbers.

We can display about 15 vehicles on the lawn at RPAYC, weather permitting. Those who have booked (ie paid) and wish to display their vehicle can contact me on 0409 860 001. From the vehicles nominated we can decide on the best variety and give preference to vehicles & members that are new to the club and focus on promoting vehicles of women  – some members of old may have suitable vehicles “new” to them.

Thanks to all participating members for a great year ahead. We look forward to associating with all those members who have joined the club in good faith but have yet to join the fun – please do.

The Rylstone Mini Rally is on this weekend and some of our Mini owners are heading west to enjoy the open road driving and fellowship of other Mini enthusiasts – best wishes to all.

Regards and happy motoring,
President Kerry Benson

Don’t Forget

IF you can’t attend an event after you have booked, please let us know. Preferably cancel via the website, or if you have difficulty, contact me directly.

ALSO, members have asked if they book an Event, and it is rescheduled, do they need to book again?

Answer: YES, as you may not be able to attend the new rescheduled date, so you need to book it again.

New PMEA windscreen banners have been selling well. We would like to encourage more members to purchase one and proudly display them at our Events. They are available for $25 each, please log-in to the Members section of the website, and go to Club Shop where you will find a picture and instructions on how to order. Should you have any difficulties, please contact me directly. There will be some available for purchase directly at this Sunday’s Event... just ask.

Keep those wheels turning!!
