OUR BIWEEKLY NEWSLETTER

28th JANUARY 2022

Hello from your President Kerry Benson

e:   pmeapresident2020@gmail.com

Hi to all,

Do not miss our next meeting! Enjoy another David Rundle interview and video presentation featuring our regalia and Mini Moke enthusiast among other things – Linda Upton who has had an extremely interesting life and ladies are especially invited to enjoy the night. Usual anti covid rules apply.

Our next general meeting will be on Wednesday 9 Feb 7.30pm at RMYC in the Horseshoe Cove room – downstairs where we used to meet – capacity 70 pax. Not the Top Deck Room!

Our Sunday 16th Jan BBQ  Motor cycles & American vehicles was an overwhelming success as big numbers of bikes and cars attended. The weather was great and we saw PMEA at its best with new members and old enjoying the camaraderie. Good news – Bill Van Drehnen has volunteered to tow the bbq trailer with his ubiquitous Toyota troopy to assist Ross Halliwell. It is always warming to know that members spontaneously get the job done and organisers can have confidence in them.

Fagan park run was excellent thanks to Davids  x 2. David Pryce Jones is a “Friend of the Park” and we thank him for his initiative and VP David made it happen.

VP David has excelled himself in organising events, including the Highlands tour so please refer to the website and get booked in for a great time.

Regards and happy motoring,
President Kerry Benson

Events Update from your Vice President David Cawthorn

It has been a very busy January in the Events department! We had our 1st 2022 Club BBQ at McCarrs Creek on 16th January with 75 people attending, with several new members displaying their vehicles for the 1st time. A very enjoyable day and a big thanks to the hard working BBQ team.

Our 1st Mid-Month Wednesday Brunch Run to the Coal Loader Café at Waverton was enjoyed by 13 people, with excellent food and a very interesting walk around the historic site, including a close up view of the sunken ferry ‘Baragoola’.

PMEA celebrated Australia Day with 27 members enjoying beautiful surroundings with a picnic in the shaded grounds of the heritage Fagan Park at Dural.

On a lovely sunny day, our cars looked fabulous with our new windscreen banners and signs. Some members joined the vehicle parade through the grounds, following old historic tractors and farm vehicles. The historic barns were open with an amazing variety of machinery and items dating back to the early 20th Century.

A very popular day out and we will do it again sometime next year. Can’t wait for John Kaye’s video to be shown at an upcoming meeting!
