At our May 4th meeting I was pleased with the overwhelming support for the $10 increase in subscriptions and no discussion was required. For those not at the meeting, this will cover our new $100/meeting room hire and allow us to continue all the benefits that we offer. Our Club procedures on the website and membership application can now be updated shortly.
Membership renewal process can begin next week – see Dave Coupland’s info below. NB Dave is retiring after 6 years as Membership secretary and we need a replacement with some spreadsheet skill and ability to inform people about our club. Contact a committee member if interested. Pls do not send any renewals until renewal notice arrives. “Membership Renewals now due for 2022 - 2023 financial year. Email and SMS notices with full details will be sent out next week. Renewal fee is $60. Dave Coupland - Membership Officer”
Raffles clarification – we run raffles for fun. $5/person entry at meetings with several draws. $2/person entry on Sunday runs with multiple draws. Our raffles are not fund raisers or donations – some days we make a profit – some days we don’t. Over the year we make a little. The only donations via our club come from 20% of your membership subscription and we allocate this near Christmas and EOFY to charities.
The only fund raiser is the annual Unique Vehicle Display organised in conjunction with RMYC, all entry fees and donations are handed to the nominated charities – this year – Bear Cottage and Marine Rescue. We receive no income from this event. Pls support this event.
Wakefield Park Race Day auction finale
Our auction for a race track day will be finalised at 8pm Wed 18 May at our meeting for Thurs 30/6 dinner & accommodation and Fri July 1 at Wakefield Raceway. The total value of the deal is $1500 with current bidding at $1.010. Bids being emailed to treasurer, Graeme Smith (treasurerpmea@bigpond.com) or by hand at the meeting.
Highest bids will be posted in STOP PRESS on the website asap. This prize has been donated by Belrose Rotary club and we are grateful of the opportunity for our members to participate. This is a great chance to experience a race track speed experience in race cars with a racing instructor with you and/or your partner at the wheel. Minimum bid increments at $10 please. Any questions – ring me 0409 860 001.
Please enjoy our BBQ and our Unique Vehicle Display.
Regards,
Kerry Benson - President

The rain has cleared (for a while at least), so I hope you have all been getting your jalopies out and giving them a good flogging in the lovely sunshine to your favourite destination!
Speaking of, our recent 24th April Sunday run to Echo On The Marina at Roseville Chase has now become one of my favourite local cafes. If you haven’t been there yet, try it out, such an amazing location and great food! A little known fact was revealed on the day, our very own PMEA member Brian Faulkner grew up in the original boatshed house where his father had a business. He will be giving a talk about this at a future PMEA meeting.
Mid-year over winter is a busy time for car clubs and events in general, don’t forget to check them all out on Classic Car Gurus.
